The Budget Build · Done with you

Two sessions. A budget built from hours.

Last year plus 10% plants people who don't exist. The Budget Build starts from the paid hours you'll actually have in March, prices the gap, and hands you the four levers with an owner and a date on each. From $2,976. Ten business days from session one.

From $2,976 Floor price, scoped before you book
2 × 90 min Working sessions by video
10 days Business days to the finished budget

Booked October through mid-December, so the number is done before hiring and renewal letters go out.

What you're buying

One budget. Six pieces.

The capacity budget by division: paid hours, billable hours, revenue per hour, revenue. The number the crews can hold, not the number ownership hopes for.
The gap in dollars, hours, and people, with the overtime cost of ignoring it.
The four levers priced against your numbers: hires, utilization, price, overtime. Each with an owner and a date.
The hiring calendar: who starts when, so the hours exist before the work does.
The proposal rate for sales, by division, by month.
The 90-day calendar to January 1, and the monthly hours-to-plan review for after.
How it runs
Session one, 90 minutes by video: you, whoever runs the field, and me. Last year's hours, this year's headcount, the number ownership expects.
Between sessions, I build. You answer questions by email, usually two or three.
Session two, 90 minutes: the budget on the screen, the gap, the levers. You leave with owners and dates, not a spreadsheet to finish.
Terms, in plain English
$2,976 is the floor: one division with clean payroll. Several divisions, subcontracted work, or a year without job reviews take more build time. You get the exact number before session one is booked.
Pay at booking for the floor scope, or book now and pay by invoice once the scope is quoted. Either way, nothing starts until the number is agreed.
The finished budget is delivered within 10 business days of session one, provided the three files arrive before it.
Confidential. Nothing shared, nothing published, no case study without your written consent.

Book the Budget Build.

Book below. The receipt comes from the payment processor; the session link and the three-file request come from me, within one business day.

After you book

What happens next. In order.

Day 0 Today
You book. I send the three-file request.

Last year's payroll hours by division, current headcount with start dates, and the revenue number ownership expects. Most owners pull them in an hour.

Day 1–3 Session one
90 minutes on the ground.

You, whoever runs the field, and me. We build the capacity side: paid hours, billable hours, revenue per hour, by division. The gap shows up before the call ends.

Day 4–8 Build
I build the budget.

The levers priced against your numbers, the hiring calendar, the proposal rate by month. Two or three questions by email while I work.

Day 10 Session two
The budget, with owners and dates.

90 minutes walking the number you can defend to ownership. You leave with the 90-day calendar to January 1 and the monthly review that keeps it honest after.

Before you book

Questions owners ask at this point.

Why isn't it one price?

Because one division with clean payroll is a different build than four divisions, two subcontractors, and no job reviews since 2024. The floor is $2,976. The Fit Call takes 25 minutes and ends with the exact number. Nothing is billed until you have it.

I already have a budget. Is this still useful?

If it started from last year's revenue, yes. The Build checks whether the hours exist to earn it. Most budgets I see are short six to eight people by March and nobody has noticed yet.

What if my payroll hours are a mess?

Then that's the first thing we fix in session one. Hours by division is the only input that matters, and I've never had a payroll export too rough to work from.

Can I do this in January?

You can, but the hires named in the budget need to be on a truck by March, and the renewal letters with the new price go out in December. A Build after mid-December is a budget for the year after.
